Hello Timeshare Rockstars!

I just got home from having spent 5 weeks in the scorching hot desert of Las Vegas, Nevada and I am so happy to be back in sunny, gorgeous Seattle!

I was engulfed in trainings non-stop as well as one-on-one peak-performance coaching of sales reps who were frustrated with their current performance and ready to break through.

While I was there, I met so many amazing people from all over the world some of whom are achieving massive success and others, well not so much lol.

I routinely get asked what it takes to “achieve excellence” and to become a top sales rep in this industry. The one piece of advise I find myself giving aside from being 100% committed to achieving excellence is, “you need to have total clarity.”

There is a level of absolute clarity that a top-performer has versus the average sales rep.

I connect with timeshare reps everyday and there is a clear difference between those who are selling a few million dollars a year from those who are drowning at the bottom of the wheel, or “in the gutter” as someone recently put it.

I know you think that seems quite obvious and it is, but here’s the deal…the sales reps who are selling $Millions in volume are not happy with their performance either and want to double and triple their numbers. That’s why they come to me. So I can help them break through to their next level of success.

The difference is the sales rep who is selling $Millions a year and knows they are capable of more, can tell me with 100% clarity where he or she is for the year (to the dollar), what exactly their VPG is, their APT and closing percentage and more importantly they know EXACTLY where they want to be. 

**In other words, they have absolute clarity on what their monthly and yearly goals are AND how far away they are from each.

You see, having clarity is a huge factor in your success and where most sales rep, heck most people in LIFE fail…

They have zero clarity of where they want to be. They do not have clear goals.

They think that by just going through the motions and showing up everyday, they hope and pray they will get a deal. Top performers have a clear goal in mind, that is S.M.A.R.T. and they know exactly where they are at on any given day and where they are GOING TO BE. 

If you aren’t happy with your sales performance, I can pretty much guarantee you don’t have clarity in your goals.

So what can you do about it?


I’m sure some of you have heard of S.M.A.R.T. goals and I cannot emphasize enough how important it is that your goals be S.M.A.R.T.

S.M.A.R.T. Goal Setting

S   =  Specific 

M =  Measurable

A  =  Achievable  or Attainable

R  =  Relevant

T  =  Timely

Here’s a great reference for how to understand S.M.A.R.T. goals if you need further clarification. I wasn’t really looking to get into it in detail :-).

Sales Tip for Goal Setting: I recommend always setting goals in the present tense as opposed to future tense because when we set goals out into the future, “someday”, your unconscious mind will always think it’s something you have yet to achieve.

You will always be chasing it.

This is a template to model your goals that I give to my coaching clients…

“It is now August 31st, 2016, and I (First name Last name) am selling $X or more in volume easily and effortlessly.”

$$ If you’re not where you want to be, GET CLEAR and set S.M.A.R.T. goals for your month and year first…$$

Then figure out your next move and then your next move because without action and doing something different from what you have been doing, you will stay stuck.

And you certainly do not want to stay stuck, do you?!

****P.S. I know by now you understand that the Conscious Mind is the “Goal Setter” and the Unconscious Mind is the “Goal Getter” and understanding this allows you to see that if or when the two are out of alignment for any reason, due to lack of clarity, limiting beliefs, blocks or unconscious fears, you will find yourself chasing your tail and never really achieving the level of success you know you are capable of achieving.

Rockstar Tip #1: Get clear on where you are and where you want to be so there is no ambiguity…

Rockstar Tip #2: Write down your goals on paper as I described above and carry them with you! Read them 3 x’s/day…

Rockstar Tip #3: Determine what else is holding you back and then simply DECIDE that you are ready to Breakthrough!
